Shannon Lofland, a 44-year-old deputy with 21 years at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado, resigned in December 2024 after an internal investigation uncovered her involvement in adult videos. Lofland cited severe financial struggles as the reason for her side job, including $500,000 in uninsured home damage from a 2023 storm, a tripled adjustable-rate mortgage, and rising living costs that led to foreclosure proceedings. She admitted to violating department policy by not seeking approval for secondary employment, which she knew would likely be denied. Lofland, a wife and mother, stated the adult industry was a “legal, lucrative” way to support her family, earning enough to cover her mortgage through about six scenes. She emphasized the industry was professional and free of coercion, with her husband’s support. While she loved her sheriff’s office role, particularly as a driver training instructor, she hasn’t ruled out continuing in adult films. This case follows a similar incident in Arapahoe County involving another deputy, Melissa Williams, who was fired in 2023 for her OnlyFans content.
